This Freedom Day, spend some time in a township at Maphindi's, a well-known local Tshisanyama (township grillhouse). Not only will you get to enjoy the unique flavours of a proper township braai with local dishes such as pap, wild spinach and chakalaka (spicy tomato relish), but you will also be helping a great cause, Stop Hunger Now Southern Africa (SHN SA).
Your Maphindis Freedom Day Experience will consist of a morning meal packaging event where you will package 6 000 meals in a fun assembly line to be distributed by SHN SA to over 56 preschools in the Western Cape. Once you have worked up an appetite packaging meals, you will get to experience a traditional Tshisanyama lunch: a braai with lamb chops, boerewors and spicy chicken wings complemented with a buffet of traditional Xhosa dishes: pap, chakalaka (tomato relish) and wild spinach stew.

Human rights are the rights that each and every person is entitled to - simply because they are human beings.
Every child has the right to basic nutrition and social services. (Chapter 2, Section 28(C) South African Constitution).
On 21 March 2013, help us to help ensure that this basic human right is fulfilled for the children of South Africa.
