WORLD HUNGER IS SURMOUNTABLE



Stop Hunger Now’s volunteer-based meal packaging program plays a significant role in feeding the world. Our assembly process combines rice, soy, dehydrated vegetables and a flavoring mix including 21 essential vitamins and minerals into small meal packages. These meal packages are sent around the world to people suffering from severe hunger. The food stores and transports easily, and has a shelf-life of one year.

WHERE YOU COME IN

Many churches, civic organisations, corporations and schools have enjoyed arranging a Stop Hunger Now meal packaging event. It’s lots of fun, hands-on and a very rewarding experience for anyone of any age. 40-50 volunteers can package 10,000 meals in just two hours. Since the programme’s inception in 2005, volunteers have packaged more than 20 million meals for the world’s most impoverished.



HOST AN EVENT:
  1. Set a goal for the number of meals you want to package and contact your local program coordinator.
  2. Recruit volunteers based on the number of meals you plan to package.

  3. Begin to fund your event. All you need to raise is R2* for each meal you package. Ask your local program coordinator for fun fundraising ideas.
    Stop Hunger Now SA relies on donations to fund each meal packaging event. Because each meal costs just R2*, your contributions make a big difference.
